Crews from Table Mountain National Park’s NCC Environmental Services are currently responding to a wildfire that has broken out in Newlands Forest, near Rhodes Memorial, Cape {town} Etc reports.

The fire, which appears to have ignited on the slopes of the mountain, has been spreading through the forested area. Emergency services and fire-fighting teams have been deployed to the scene to contain the blaze and prevent further spread.
At this stage, there are no reports of injuries, but the fire is creating significant smoke in the area, which could affect visibility for both residents and motorists in nearby neighbourhoods.
The cause of the fire has not yet been determined, and authorities are closely monitoring the situation.
