SANParks Table Mountain National Park Fire Management teams, supported by NCC Wildfires, Volunteer Wildfire Services, and the City of Cape Town Fire & Rescue Services, are actively working to combat a vegetation fire that erupted in Ocean View this morning at approximately 7:30am.
The situation escalated quickly, prompting the immediate deployment of firefighting crews to the scene.
As flames threaten the natural landscape, the first helicopter arrived early, executing essential water drops to assist those on the ground, reports Cape {town} Etc.
‘We urge the public to avoid the area and allow emergency vehicles unobstructed access,’ SANParks communicated via an update on their official Facebook page.
Fire crews are working tirelessly to manage the blaze, surveying the area and implementing dozer lines to contain the fire.
