The incident is currently under the management of SANParks’ Fire Management teams as they work tirelessly to assess the fire’s spread and establish containment measures.
At this stage, the cause of the blaze remains unknown. Fortunately, officials have reported no injuries or property damage linked to this incident, although the situation is still developing, and further updates are anticipated as firefighting operations persist.
This flare-up comes amid an ongoing wildfire that has been consuming resources in the Vlakkenberg area since it began along the Hout Bay Pipe Track on 24 March 2026.
Residents and hikers in the affected areas are urged to exercise caution and avoid the vicinity to facilitate safe access for emergency crews as they conduct operations.
