The South African Police Service (SAPS) is currently investigating an incident where five men were killed in a shooting incident that occurred in Mfuleni on Sunday afternoon, Cape {town} Etc reports.
Information gathered from the scene has indicated that Mfuleni police were called out to the Madikizela informal settlement at around 1:30pm.
Upon their arrival, they found the bodies of five men between the ages of 19 and 30 with gunshot wounds in a shack on the corner of Polisa and Deputy Streets, according to a press statement issued by the SAPS.
The motive for the shooting is still unclear, with the police investigation currently being undertaken by the provincial serious violent crimes investigators.
No arrests have been made yet, with Mfuleni police having opened a murder docket for investigation.
‘Anyone with information that could lead to the arrest of the perpetrator/s of this act is encouraged to contact Crime Stop on 08600 10111 or make use of the MySAPS App to send information,’ said Brigadier Novela Potelwa, SAPS spokesperson.
