The incident caught the attention of social media users, prompting FlySafair to announce that it is investigating the event, which could have implications for the airline’s passenger conduct policies.
The flight, which was filled to its 189-seat capacity, carried numerous EFF members en route to East London to support their commander in chief, Julius Malema, who is scheduled to appear at the East London Magistrate’s Court on Friday.
Imagine paying for a flight and you have this lot onboard.
Absolutely no respect or decency.
I saw the one post from an EFF’er where he posted this video and proclaimed, “We dealt with white arrogance we mean business…”

Malema, was convicted in October on five firearm-related charges, including unlawful possession of a firearm and reckless endangerment of persons and property, which likely intensified the atmosphere on the flight.
Following the uproar, FlySafair issued a statement acknowledging the unruly behaviour onboard and confirming that an internal investigation is underway to clarify the events that transpired.
The airline emphasised its commitment to passenger safety and respect during flights, stating, ‘We are aware of the matter and are investigating. Should it be found that the passengers were in breach of our policies, further steps will be taken,’ as quoted on Daily Dispatch.
They assured the public that strict measures are in place to ensure a pleasant and secure travelling experience for all passengers.
The airline further noted, ‘We appreciate your patience while this review is completed,” indicating their proactive approach to addressing the situation, as reported by Daily Dispatch.
