The world has been left reeling after the shocking announcement that cricket legend Shane Warne had passed away at the age of 52 on 4 March 2022.
His friend, Tom Hall, has been giving fans some peace of mind by revealing one of the last photos taken of the sporting great, along with his last meal.
Hall had been staying at the resort in Koh Samui, Thailand, where Warne was found unconscious in his room. He had been sharing a villa with three travel companions, as per Times Live.
He has since stated that there were no unusual circumstances preceding his death, but that the cricketer had enjoyed a bite of Australia’s favourite snack – vegemite on a slice of toast just hours before his death.
Hall, who is the CEO of Sporting News, paid tribute to his friend by sharing a heartfelt letter and one of the last photos taken of Warne via social media.
“Anybody that knew Shane knew his warmth, his caring, his incredible sense of humour, his laugh, the twinkle in his eye and that glare from those glowing, unnaturally white teeth,” stated Hall during his tribute.
The Thai police had ruled out foul play with their investigation, concluding that he had died of natural causes.
