The Hollywoodbets Kenilworth Racecourse became the scene of glamour and high-stakes competition as Cape Racing hosted the 164th L’Ormarins King’s Plate on Saturday, 4 January, Cape {town} Etc reports.
Over 2 500 dressed guests attended the occasion, filling the air with an ‘electric buzz’ of anticipation and celebration.
The 164th L’Ormarins King’s Plate, a historical race that has occurred annually since 1861, has been described as
one of ‘the Cape’s foremost racing and social events’, having a status as one of South Africa’s premier mile races.
Both socialites and racing enthusiasts attended the race that blended high fashion with premier sporting competition.
The highlight of this year’s edition was ONE STRIPE, who had an inspiring performance, capturing the coveted L’Ormarins King’s Plate (WFA) Gr 1 title over 1600m.
Each year, the L’Ormarins King’s Plate continues to set new standards and deliver an unforgettable combination of luxury and athletic excellence, solidifying its legacy as a crown jewel in South Africa’s cultural and racing calendar.
