The founder of H2O, a highly popular festival that has hosted numerous international and local artists since 1999, is back in court following a murder case that happened back in January 2015 at a garage in Gardens.
The founder, Hout Bay businessman David Forbes, confessed to shooting Toufiq Joseph who was 23 at the time, but expressed that it was in self-defence as per IOL.
The incident saw Joseph killed at an Engen Garage in Gardens, and was believed to have occurred after an altercation as EWN previously reported.
The report continued to express that Forbes’ lawyers told the court the case was prejudiced following a failure of the State to provide key documents.
Joseph was reportedly out on bail at the time he died and had a criminal record according to the court.
Forbes appeared back in the Cape Town Regional Court on Monday and is out on R20 000 bail.
