The Hout Bay businessman and founder of the H2O party brand, who is accused of a murder at a garage in Gardens in 2015, was back in dock on Tuesday.
David Forbes’ case was heard at the Cape Town Regional Court earlier this week following the death of 23-year-old, Toufiq Joseph, on 24 January 2015 at the Engen in Orange Street.

The deceased was reportedly out on bail at the time of the incident.
According to the National Prosecuting Authority’s Eric Ntabazalila, the state was waiting on the report from the Department of Correctional Services before they could proceed.
“Forbes is charged with the murder of a man he was seen arguing with at a garage in Orange Street, Gardens,” Ntabazalila explained.
“The State alleges the accused pulled out a firearm and fired four shots at the deceased while he was sitting in his car.”
“He then waited for the police and handed himself over.”
“The case has been postponed for a correctional service report.”
At the time of the incident, Forbes allegedly admitted that he shot Joseph, claiming that he acted in self-defence.
The accused, who began the H20 party brand and then became a consultant for the Ultra music festival in South Africa, said he was attacked with a knife before he allegedly opened fire.
He is currently out on R20 000 bail.
