South Africa may temporarily become home to a few royal family members as news has broken that Prince Harry and his wife Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, are considering a move to the country following the birth of their first baby.

We can’t say we’re not excited to have the pair land on our shores and even more so at the possibility of them moving to the Mother City.

The royal couple is reportedly considering a number of African spots to move to for four months this year, including Botswana, Lesotho and even Cape Town. Word has it the couple may be spending some of the first few days with their little one on our continent.

Many think that the couple is considering South Africa due to their recent charity activities in aid of the country’s residents. The pair have officially asked their fans to support The Lunchbox Fund, a charity organisation which provides a nutritious daily school meal to children in South Africa who would otherwise go hungry.

As the couple consider the move as well as the final location, both the Scotland Yard and South African police could be dealing with costly operations in order to keep the royals safe during their visit.

The move will allow the lovebirds to better act as UK ambassadors and representatives of the Commonwealth while pursuing the causes they want to focus on more easily.

There’s no news yet on a final decision but the idea is that they will potentially spend four months a year at their chosen location, so locals may just be running into the royal family members somewhere in future. We hope it’s in Cape Town and here’s why we think it’s the best choice:
