The five suspects, aged 41 to 57, were arrested in connection with investigations into murders, dealing in drugs and possession of firearms and ammunition, according to Warrant Officer Zinzi Hani, Hawks spokesperson.

Among those arrested was the brother of a well-known Cape Town underworld figure, as reported by News24.
‘Their arrest emanates from cases that involve drug trafficking and three murders that occurred from the period between December 2015 to December 2017,’ said Hani.
‘Investigation into the drug activities of this grouping provided evidence of murders (hits) that were ordered due to clashes that occurred relating to the distribution of drugs in the Western Cape as well as in the Gauteng area,’ Hani added.
The investigation has identified six suspects.
‘One suspect was traced and arrested in Gauteng, and four others were traced and arrested in Cape Town. One suspect is still at large,’ said Hani.
‘The suspect arrested in Gauteng will appear in transit [in the] Pretoria Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday and will be transported to Cape Town. The four suspects arrested in Cape Town will appear in the Bellville Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday,’ Hani added.
The investigation is ongoing.
