Ladles of Love has created a way to gift and share food with love this festive season. The NPO’s seasonal campaign called FillaPot means R200 fills a pot with enough food to feed 100 children.
Founder of Ladles of Love, Danny Diliberto says “Our aim is to promote a culture of giving by gifting meals to children in need over Christmas time. If COVID-19 has taught us anything, it is the importance of sharing and caring – we are one community and whilst many of us are blessed with abundance, there are so many who are not”.
December is a time to reflect on the challenges and gains of the year. It is also a time of goodwill and putting a smile on somebody’s face to make them understand that they are appreciated and not forgotten.
Diliberto continues “You can send a FillaPot Gift Certificate along with a personal message to family and friends. With your help and that of everyone you know, together we can fill 10 000 pots and serve one million people, some big and many small – a healthy hot meal”.
The campaign also appeals to corporates as the organisation encourages them to add additional value to incentivizing staff with year-end gifts. Your company can pay forward a gift certificate for staff members to serve 100 children a hot hearty meal for just R200!
Ladles of Love supports approximately 300 soup kitchens around the Cape Peninsula by supplying them with bulk food five days a week. These kitchens send out approximately 30 000 meals a day! The NPO relies on donations to buy fresh produce, grains and legumes to fill hundreds of community soup kitchen pots, enabling them to cook daily meals for people in need.
So, if you are planning your Christmas shopping and wondering what to buy, why not gift a meaningful gift that will make a notable difference in someone’s life. Such a gift will go a long way in helping restore the dignity and inner worth of those who are on the verge of losing hope.
