Parkscape has warned hikers to be cautious after there was a robbery on the Keyser River Greenbelt footpath located south of the “Bridge to Nowhere” at approximately 8am on Sunday, October 25.
“The greenbelt offers easy access and getaway – either via Tokai, Constantia Hills or via the holes in the fence which allow perpetrators to escape towards the Blue Route shopping centre,” Parkscape said. “In this instance the latter is how the perpetrators escaped. We have repeatedly raised the issue of the fence with the authorities and will raise it again with the City and Province.”
A hiker also warned the page that her husband’s car was broken into while parked at Silvermine on the same morning.
“Parked in the parking lot, on the right-hand side coming from Noordhoek, security guard completely unaware,” she said.
