This incident follows a concerning trend in the region. Just last month, a whale was spotted entangled in fishing rope off Miller’s Point, raising alarms about marine safety and fishing practices.
Additionally, another dead whale was observed adrift near St Helena Bay, highlighting ongoing challenges facing marine wildlife.
As investigations continue, local authorities emphasise the importance of keeping a safe distance and respecting the designated barriers around the site.
