Cape Town ranked seventeenth out of 25 top world destinations. ‘Having a well-run city adds to the appeal of Cape Town, as does its natural scenic beauty and amenities,’ says Basil Moraitis, regional head of Pam Golding Properties in the Western Cape (Savills associate in South Africa).
‘Whether they are looking to unwind on the pristine shores or embark on adventures through breathtaking trails, Cape Town offers a delightful mix for nomads.’
‘Another significant advantage for executive nomads is the favourable exchange rate to the US Dollar, the Pound, and the Euro, which allows for comfortable living at a fraction of the cost compared to other major cities.’
The top spot was taken by Dubai, followed by Abu Dhabi – both for their modern infrastructure and high quality of life.
Conversely, Moneyweb reports that Cape Town’s high ranking reflects the growing appeal of beachside cities, joining the ranks of popular spots like Málaga in Spain, Miami in the US, and Lisbon in Portugal, which also feature prominently on the index.
Moraitis adds that the City not only offers a variety of rental options tailored to executive nomads (such as studios and one-bedroom loft apartments priced between R10 000 and R18 000 per month or two-bedroom apartments ranging from R20 000 to R30 000 per month), but that the City is renowned for its Michelin-star restaurants, high-quality living spaces and a favourable exchange rate.
‘These options provide a comfortable and inspiring living space, allowing residents to immerse themselves in the local culture while maintaining productivity in their work endeavours.’
