Jaco Swart, the latest centrepiece of a shocking gender-based violence instance, has reportedly received a taste of his own medicine after he was allegedly assaulted by a group of men.
Swart became infamous after footage of him violently beating his estranged wife, Nicole Swart, went viral. However, the public’s reaction was far harsher than the courts. The consequences for Swart’s actions was a R20 000 fine and a five-year suspended prison sentence. Groups like AfriForum condemned the run of justice as “shockingly inappropriate”, while the NPA conveyed that the sentence wasn’t bad.

Swart is also believed to have hit another woman before the sentencing, as per Barry Bateman, AfriForum Private prosecution Unit spokesperson.
However, last week, a group of individuals are believed to have taken matters into their own hands.
In a voice note sent to his lawyer, Enoch Nethanani, Swart claimed that the assault took place in Pretoria, where a group of men allegedly hit him over the head, threw him in the boot of a car, and kicked him, as per News24.
Swart also allegedly claimed that the men threatened to break or cut off his hands for hitting a woman, reports the South African.
It appears that Swart was then thrown out of the boot, but still fears for his life.
Now, people on social media are praising the Pretoria men’s actions, with some applauding vigilante justice, and others calling to ‘Moer’ him on sight.
