According to Airports Company SA (ACSA), the delayed vessel carrying jet fuel for Cape Town International Airport has docked in the harbour.
Jet fuel deliveries to the airport are expected to resume on Tuesday evening, after the necessary quality processes have been completed, ACSA confirmed today, as per News24.
The vessel was supposed to arrive in the Mother City nine days ago. The delay was attributed to bad weather.
Despite not having to cancel any flights, Flysafair’s spokesperson Kirby Gordon described the situation as “a nightmare”. US carrier United Airlines, however, did cancel direct flights to Cape Town and return flights from Cape Town over the weekend.
