Humanitarian organisation Gift of the Givers has announced a R1 million donation from the Jewish charity Mauerberger Foundation Fund to help provide critical aid to children in Gaza.
The foundation, led by Dianna Yach, made the generous contribution in support of the group’s ongoing relief efforts in the war-torn region. Gift of the Givers described the donation as a powerful example of Ubuntu, showing how people from different faiths and cultures can unite to create meaningful change.
‘This gift embodies the spirit of Ubuntu. Together, we are providing vital support to Gaza’s most vulnerable children. When communities unite across faiths and cultures, extraordinary impact is possible,’ the organisation shared in its statement on Facebook.

Gift of the Givers has also provided details for anyone wishing to assist with relief interventions in Palestine. Donations can be made through their Standard Bank account in Pietermaritzburg using the reference ‘Palestine’, or via crowdfunding platforms BackaBuddy and GlobalGiving.
