Cape {town} Etc has changed my life, writes editor, Robyn Simpson. So much more than just a job, being on this young, dynamic team has added an element of adventure and excitement to everyday life. From the way we run our schedule to our goals and content — this is a team that’s anything but ordinary.
Over the course of the past year, we’ve worked hard to evolve Cape {town} Etc. As a young editor, my main priority when heading up content was to take the platform out of a niche market and into everything Cape Town. From Bishopscourt to Khayelitsha and beyond, we want Cape {town} Etc to be a place where every Capetonian can come and find a slice of life.
Not only that, but we’ve spent a lot of time thinking about the ‘Etc’ aspect of our brand. Subsequently, this involved us looking beyond the borders of the Mother City, including coverage of both national and international news.
It’s been an exceptional learning process, and I’d like to thank our loyal readers for sticking with us whilst we navigated these changes. It wasn’t always perfect, but you kept us going and have kept coming back for more. You truly are a treasured part of the Cape {town} Etc family.
Cape {town} Etc has grown — from our readers to the amount of content we aspire to produce. Subsequently, we are looking for not one, but two new people to join our close-knit team. If you’re passionate about Cape Town, writing, and reporting, one of these two positions could belong to you:
