This morning a traffic officer was shot in the upper arm on Main Road in Kalk Bay after pursuing suspects involved in an armed robbery that allegedly took place at popular fish and chips restaurant Kalky’s.
The incident was reported this morning, Monday, November 4 at roughly 8.34am.
Law enforcement was in hot pursuit of the suspects and chased their vehicle onto Baden Powell Dr towards Khayelitsha.
Following the incident, EMS were on site to tend to the injured officer and three suspects were apprehended with two firearms recovered. A stolen vehicle was also recovered.
The officer who was harmed during the incident was taken to Tokai Melomed for further medical care.
There are no other reported injuries at this time and no information available as to how much the suspects made away with.
