Kataza, one of the Cape’s most loved Baboons has been pictured today, October, 10 with what appears to be a serious injury to his left shoulder. The images were captured by a concerned citizen named Ryno Engelbrecht, describing Kataza’s injuries and they way he has been treated over the past few weeks as ‘appalling, horrific and unacceptable’.

The Cape of Good Hope SPCA has since come out and addressed the issue in a Facebook post, stating that it is aware of Kataza and the injuries he sustained earlier today and that the SPCA Wildlife Department is currently on scene to assess the situation. The explanation for how Kataza sustained the injuries is still unknown.
