Jasveen Sangha, the 42-year-old woman known as the Ketamine Queen, has agreed to plead guilty to distributing the drugs that killed the Friends actor Matthew Perry, becoming the fifth person to admit involvement in the supply chain that led to the actor’s October 2023 death.

As reported by the BBC, Sangha will plead guilty to five federal charges, including distributing ketamine resulting in death, in a case that exposed a sophisticated Hollywood drug network that exploited Perry’s addiction. She faces up to 65 years in prison.

Reports suggest that federal prosecutors described Sangha’s Los Angeles home as a ‘drug-selling emporium‘ where investigators found dozens of vials of ketamine during a raid.

Meanwhile, AFP notes that Sangha, a dual US-UK citizen, has been in federal custody since August 2024 and will formally enter her plea in coming weeks.

The Justice Department states that Sangha will plead guilty to the following charges:

  • One count of maintaining a drug-involved premises

  • Three counts of distributing ketamine

  • One count of distributing ketamine resulting in death or serious bodily injury

Her attorney, Mark Geragos, told the BBC that she’s taking responsibility for her actions.

Perry’s death revealed an extensive supply chain. As the BBC outlines, four others have already agreed to plead guilty:

  • Two doctors who sold ketamine

  • Perry’s live-in assistant who helped purchase and inject the actor

  • Another dealer who supplied Sangha’s ketamine to Perry

AFP reports that all five individuals exploited Perry’s known addiction ‘for profit,’ ultimately leading to his overdose from the ‘acute effects of ketamine.’

Investigations found that Sangha also supplied ketamine to another man, Cody McLaury, who died hours after his purchase in August 2019.

Federal authorities allege Sangha has been operating her ‘stash house‘ since at least 2019, catering to celebrities and high-end clients.

Her social media presence, as described by reports, depicted an extravagant lifestyle with appearances at major events like the Golden Globes and Oscars.

With sentencing yet to come, this case represents a significant prosecution in Hollywood’s ongoing struggle with substance abuse and those who profit from addiction.
