Chicken lovers were furious this weekend when they tried to order their favourite KFC meal only to be told that there was no chicken at some outlets. KFC South Africa confirmed that they are experiencing a shortage of chicken at a few branches in the Mother City. Some outlets decided to reduce its trading hours as a result of the shortage.
Social media users took to Facebook to vent their frustrations of the chicken shortage;
KFC said that the chicken supplies have suddenly decreased in the last two weeks, but hopes it will return to normal this week. It is not the first time the fast food giant experienced a shortage of chickens, in November last year KFC experienced a shortage of Zinger and Dunked Wings as a result of the avian influenza gripping the country.
