A video of a ready mix cement truck smashing into 17 cars in a terrible accident on Kloof Nek Road is currently spreading on social media. Seven people were injured following a multi-vehicle collision, Cape {town} Etc reports.

The video, posted on X (formerly Twitter) by ‘The Instigator‘ at 12pm on Sunday, shows the moment the truck collided with the vehicles, first being a red Kia Picanto heading up Kloof Nek Road into the path of the fleeing vehicle and has already garnered over 350 000 views.

The truck, which had clearly lost its brakes, was speeding in the face of oncoming traffic as the driver apparently attempted to avoid smashing into the rear of cars in its lane, but after colliding with the Kia, it slammed into a queue of parked vehicles.

Among these was a white Volkswagen Tiguan, which had recently been debuted. After colliding with a wall, the truck finally came to a stop.
Western Cape Health Department spokesperson Byron la Hoe said that two patients were admitted to Groote Schuur Hospital and Chris Barnard Memorial Hospital respectively with serious injuries while another two were admitted to New Somerset Hospital for mild injuries.
