Nearly two weeks ago since the body of a man who went missing in the water close to the Knysna vicinity has been located and recovered by Police divers and NSRI rescue craft Jaytee Rescuer IV.

On Sunday, 4 September, NSRI Knysna duty crew, the SA Police Services, and a Police Dive Unit were alerted following eye-witness reports of a body submerged in the water near to the shoreline at Fountain Point near East Head Cafe.
However, the body has been brought to the shoreline and taken into the care of Government Health Forensic Pathology Services.
Meanwhile, police have opened an Inquest docket.
