A Knysna decomposed body was found in a shallow stream at the cemetery beside the N2, opposite the Knysna Provincial Hospital on Sunday 8 March 2026 at about 11am, reports Cape {town} Etc.
Police members attached to the Tsitsikamma K9 unit were on patrol when two men directed them to the site, where they discovered the remains dressed in grey jeans, the statement says.
An inquest docket is open and an autopsy has been completed as part of an ongoing investigation.
‘The investigation officer, Sergeant Denzil Cook, urges the public to come forward with any information which could assist with the identity of the deceased or to trace his next of kin,’ the police wrote in a public statement.
