A video of (what’s captioned as) a University of Cape Town (UCT) student rocking up to campus in a Lamborghini Huracan has gone viral, racking up 1.2 million views. Lecturer or visitor, perhaps?
The R4.5 million Italian supercar can reach 100km/hour in just 2.9 seconds, making this set of wheels a serious green mamba. The Huracan is powered by a V10 engine with 449kW. Its top speed is 325km/h – not seen in the clip that shows a slow roll into the parking lot.
Of course, the comments section is buzzing:
- “I saw a Royce once??? while trying to catch a Jammie.”
- “That generational wealth hits different. He/she doesn’t even need to study … life is already sorted out for them.”
- “Have you been to varsity college?? Relatable content there?.”
- “When you drive dad’s Cressida we don’t complain?.”
- “The UCT parking lot sometimes looks like a Fast and Furious set.”
- “You guys think everyone who goes to University is the same age and tax bracket as you and that’s your problem. Could be an older Masters or PhD student.”
- “A student can be anyone i.e a professional who is studying PHD or Doctrate.”
- “That’s motivation.”
- “Learn to appreciate what you got … because your parents worked hard for you to be there.”
- “If you live in Johannesburg that’s a normal thing ? I see so many students with supercars.”
- “Something you’ll never see at UKZN.”
- “The fact that you’re at UCT alone is an accomplishment. Let that sink in.”
