On Tuesday, 5 November, Layla shared a video on her Instagram story showcasing her fresh blowout, courtesy of a local salon. The mother of three seemed pleased with her new look, joking that she felt like a ‘private school mom.’
However, her comment didn’t sit well with one of her followers, who took to social media to challenge the stereotype. The follower responded, ‘So what do public school moms look like then? The labels we place on each other! Moms are amazing in all forms! Let’s get rid of the stereotypes.’
In response, Layla clarified her intentions in a follow-up post, apologising for any offence caused.
‘Sorry guys, I didn’t mean to stereotype private school moms or any kind of school mom. I just felt great,’ she explained. She also added, ‘Let’s stop shaming women.’
While Layla is often seen juggling life as a mother to three young children and the wife of a famous athlete, she is more than just a ‘WAG.’ She put her career and dream of becoming a chartered accountant on pause to support her husband’s professional journey.
In addition to her family responsibilities, Layla has also been actively involved in charitable work. Together with Cheslin, she co-founded the Kolbe Foundation, a charitable organisation aimed at improving the lives of underprivileged communities. The foundation focuses on education, sports development, and community upliftment initiatives.
Layla expressed her gratitude for the support she’s received in the foundation’s recent endeavours, posting on Instagram, ‘Super grateful for everyone who made this event possible, including my family and my village back home.’
