No more taking leave to renew your vehicle licence, the City of Cape Town has officially extended their working days to include Saturdays.

Mayoral Committee Member for Finance, Johan van der Merwe, announced this week that as of Saturday, 7 April, the City’s Brackenfell Vehicle Registration Centre will be offering residents the opportunity to conveniently renew or register their vehicle licences on a Saturday morning.

This undertaking is an effort by the City to enhance service delivery and help ease pressure on the centres during the week.

Vehicle registration and licensing centres open on a Saturday include Strandfontein, Strand, Plumstead, Pinelands, Milnerton, Liberty Promenade Mall, Fezeka, Cape Town Civic Centre, Bellville, Airport Industria and Kuils River centres.

Van der Merwe reminded residents to make use of these convenient operating hours to urgently renew their licences ahead of their Easter holiday travels.

“We would also like to encourage all customers to renew their vehicle licences as soon as possible to avoid hefty fines for expired motor vehicle licences, especially ahead of any travels over the Easter period. Residents can have their vehicles registered and licensed at any one of the City’s vehicle registration and licensing centres convenient to them,” he said in a statement.

Don’t forget to take along your proof of residence for renewal.
