Eskom has announced that loadshedding will be suspended at midnight on Sunday and resumes with Stage 1 from 5am to 4pm on Monday. Thereafter, Stage 2 will be implemented daily from 4pm until 5am the following morning, until further notice.
No loadshedding is expected during the day from Tuesday, Eskom said.
According to the statement, loadshedding is required due to the high number of breakdowns and a lack of emergency power reserves.
A total of 16 390 MW of its capacity is not available due to breakdowns, and 5 032 MW of its power output is currently offline due to planned maintenance.
