Eskom announced on Tuesday evening that Stage 1 load shedding will be implemented every day this week until Friday, while Stage 2 will be implemented nightly until Friday.
Stage 1 will start at 5 am and continue until 4 pm, after which Stage 2 will start and continue until the next morning.
Eskom said: “The increase in load shedding is mainly due to the need to preserve emergency generation reserves, the delay in returning four generating units to service, while many running units are operating at reduced capacity due to technical faults.”
