Eskom has announced that stage 5 loadshedding has been suspended “due to some recovery in the generation capacity over the past 24 hours.”
Stage 4 loadshedding will continue until further notice.

On Sunday, loadshedding jumped from stage 1 to stage 4 because breakdowns increased to 17 008MW of generating capacity while 4 600MW of capacity was out for planned maintenance.
The schedule was then going to alternate between stages 4 and 5 at the same times every day until further notice; however, now stage 4 will be implemented continuously until further notice.
