With temperatures reaching scorching heights of 40ºC and above on Christmas Day, DFW Fire & Rescue NPC offered several informal settlements in Paarl some much-needed relief by creating a special splash party for all to enjoy, reports Cape {town} Etc.
While the rest of the Drakenstein Farm Watch fleet remained on high alert for any possible fire outbreaks, the commanding officer of the DFW Fire & Rescue NPC made one 9 000-litre tanker available for the cause.
The DFW crew visited four different positions and, with the lines and water canons, brought water fun, laughter and festive cheer to the areas where beaches and pools are not always accessible during times of intense heat.
