Incidents of unrest have increased in the Western Cape as lockdown goes on. The latest incident has transpired in the Macassar area, located near Strand.
According to the Somerset West Community group on Facebook, residents in the area are engaging in looting. South African Police Service (SAPS) officers have responded to the scene, but no further information is yet available.
Cape Town Etc has reached out to SAPS for comment but did not hear back back by the time of publication.
