Sea Point police have opened an inquest following the sudden death of a 64-year-old man on Tuesday morning, Cape {town} Etc reports.
According to Captain FC Van Wyk of the SAPS, the man collapsed while jogging on Beach Road at approximately 7:34am this morning. Emergency medical personnel arrived on the scene but were unable to revive him.
A post-mortem examination has been scheduled to determine the exact cause of death. Authorities confirmed that no foul play is suspected at this stage.
Captain Van Wyk urged the public to remain calm while investigations continue and stated that police are treating the matter as a standard inquest.
Residents in the area reported a heavy police and medical presence at the scene following the incident.
