Milnerton detectives have launched a manhunt for six suspects who shot and killed five people in Joe Slovo, Milnerton on Thursday evening [October 8].

Reports from the two scenes indicate that the six suspects arrived at a house in Sekowa Street, Joe Slovo after 10pm looking for an individual identified only by name.

“One suspect shot in the head and killed a woman whose age is yet to be determined. Another woman who was with the deceased was hit in the head and sustained injury,” said SAPS spokeperson Brigadier Novela Potelwa in a statement.

“A few minutes later, the six suspects arrived at another house in Dada Street where they shot and killed three men and a woman. The ages of the victims are between 28 and 36.”

The detectives are hard at work to apprehend the suspects, and determine the motive for the killings.

This follows after other shootings across Cape Town. Two chinese nationals were kidnapped in Delft on September 25 and were found in an informal structure in Gugulethu on October 2. One of the women was already dead, according to the police.

On September 30, six people were confirmed dead and four others injured when gunmen opened fire at a home in Khayelitsha.

On September 20, four men were murdered in Crossroads in Nyanga and another almost killed.
