March and March founder Jacinta Ngobese-Zuma has unveiled the SA First Forum, describing it as a ‘black AfriForum’ that will take legal action on behalf of South Africans and challenge government decisions in court.
Speaking at a press conference, Ngobese-Zuma said the forum would support people who feel they have nowhere to turn when police or the state fall short. ‘The police remain extremely underfunded, yet the citizens have nowhere to go to complain,’ she said.
She said the forum would act as a legal buffer for South Africans who cannot afford to enforce their rights. The group also plans to challenge a South African Police Service circular it believes is unconstitutional.
Ngobese-Zuma said the forum would take up cases on behalf of South Africans and, where necessary, litigate against the state. She described it as a voice for ‘voiceless South Africans’ and said the movement wanted to shift from protest into sustained legal work.

She also linked illegal immigration to wider social problems, including drugs, trafficking, homelessness and youth addiction. According to her, the new structure will also support programmes for young people and women affected by prostitution and substance abuse.
The forum is expected to trade as SA First Forum, while the movement has also registered the M&M Foundation as a non-profit organisation.
