Master KG continues to win big in 2020. The mastermind behind the infectious ‘Jerusalema’ beat has won the title of ‘Best African Act’ at the MTV European Music Awards (EMAs).
The award ceremony took place on Sunday, November 8 and was broadcast on DSTV’s MTV and MTV Base channels.
Master KG won the top spot in the ‘Best African Act’ category, besting fellow African performers like Burna Boy, Rema, Sheebah, Gaz Mawete and Kabza De Smal and DJ Maphorisa.
In his acceptance speech, Master KG thanked his team and everyone for supporting his hit song.

Master KG has seen much success in 2020 thanks to his smash-hit ‘Jerusalema’ that has taken the world by storm. It introduced a popular global dance challenge, and is now the most Shazamed song in the world.
In August, the infectious song reached over 100-million views on Youtube, and it recently reached the number one spot on Top 200 France charts.
