A family in Milnerton is offering a R10 000 reward in exchange for the safe return of their cat, Logan.
The tabby long hair cat has been missing since 8 December and was last seen in Burmeister Circle in Milnerton.
IOL spoke to the cat’s owner Danielle Jibrail, who explained that Logan is a primarily indoor cat and has never really gone further than the houses on the opposite side of their street.
“He has never been missing – not even for an hour – in the four years that we have had him,” said Jibrail, who has created and posted missing cat posters on social media for the safe return of Logan.
Logan is a four-year-old male cat with green eyes who is microchipped and has been sterilised. Jibrail says that his distinctive features are his green eyes and white chin.
The family have shared the posters on WhatsApp and Facebook groups dedicated to finding missing pets in Cape Town.
The family has also been supported and given insights by animal support groups and rescue services, such as Rusty’s Rescues and BarkingMad.
“We are pleading with people who reside in Milnerton and surrounding areas to help us find him – to please look in their gardens, garages, sheds, inside and outside JoJo tanks, anywhere they think a cat could hide,” said Jibrail.
The R10 000 reward offered by the family comes on the conditions that Logan must first be identified by his microchip, and that no one may remove a cat from its location if they think it looks like Logan.
The family recommends to rather call them on 072 869 9635 and give them the information about the location.
“Logan came into our lives after losing my brother-in law, he brings us much joy. When I lost my mother last year, he gave me so much comfort during a very difficult time in my life,” Jibrail explains.
“The thought of not seeing him again is gut wrenching. He is not just my pet, he is my family.”
