The body of Bronwen Houghton was found next to Chapman’s Peak Drive on Thursday.

Houghton, who was 63 years old, was reported missing on Sunday after she went for a hike and did not return by noon – when she had informed her daughter that she would be back.

A search party was launched after she was reported missing.

A friend found her car parked near Chapman’s Peak. Houghton’s daughter described her as petite and slimmer than the  picture shared with Pink Ladies, with a brown bob.

Houghton’s body was discovered at approximately 12:30 by Wilderness Search and Rescue.

“The SAPS would like to thank all role players involved in the search and rescue,” a statement released by South African Police Services said.

A cause of death is yet to be determined.
