The case involving the Bonteheuwel mother who allegedly sold naked pictures of her four-year-old daughter on the dark web has been postponed once again.
The mother was arrested in July 2021 after agents attached to the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI), together with Homeland Security, reacted to information that a woman was allegedly selling the photographs and receiving payments via PayPal.

However, after several brief appearances in 2021, her latest court appearance was once again postponed, to 1 March 2022 to allow the state to formulate the final charge. According to Bonteheuwel Ward Councillor Angus Mckenzie, this is an absolute travesty of justice as the accused has been held for more than six months with no formal charges laid.
“Indeed now we can factually say, justice delayed is justice denied. These delays and the inability of investigating officers to formulate charges send out completely the incorrect message to those considering or attempting to harm our women and children,” Mckenzie said.
Mckenzie further told Cape {town} Etc that for the sake of the victim, a young child and for all victims of Gender-Based Violence (GBV) he is desperately imploring the justice system to act.
“As a country, we will never stop the scourge of GBV as long as the very laws meant to protect us from it, the custodians thereof are failing to implement,” Mckenzie added.
