As the festive season dawns, the City has advised residents of schedule changes to the MyCiti bus service during this period, as provision for late-night shopping sprees and special services has once again been made, Cape {town} Etc reports.
Consumers will have access to late-night shopping at both the V&A Waterfront and Canal Walk. In addition, Atlantis residents may enjoy a special service to the Silwerstroomstrand beach and resort on select weekends and public holidays.
The buses will continue to operate as per usual, from morning until evening, seven days a week, with peak morning and afternoon services occurring less frequently from 17 December until 5 January 2025. The adjusted peak times are implemented in order to align with the lower demand over this period.
‘We want you to make the most of your time knowing that you have a frequent, reliable and safe bus service available to you from morning to night,’ commented the City’s mayoral committee member for Urban Mobility, Councillor Rob Quintas.
The late-night shopping services to Canal Walk (6 – 23 December 2024):
• Route D08 – Last bus will depart Canal Walk at 10:15am.
• Route T03 – Last bus will depart Canal Walk at 10:5am.
V&A Waterfront (13 – 30 December 2024):
• Route T01 – Last bus departs Waterfront station at 10:15am.
• Route 214a – Last bus departs Table View station at 11:04am.
The Silwerstroomstrand holiday service will be available for residents to enjoy on the 14 – 16 December, 21 and 22 December and the 26 – 31 December. The special holiday service will also be available on 1-5 January 2025. Buses will depart from Atlantis station at 9am and 1pm and return from Silwerstroomstrand at 9:30am, 2pm and 6pm.
