Table Mountain National Park is a refuge for many nature-loving Capetonians looking to spoil themselves with beautiful vistas and the rugged landscape that our Mother City is renowned for. However, this idyllic trip into nature is often marred by discarded contents thrown all over the place – next to towering trees, winding paths and flower beds.
A group of incredible humans have come to the rescue, organising a successful clean-up on October 15. According to a Facebook post by SANParks – Table Mountain National Park, in partnership with Love our trails, Cape Town Marathon, and Nature Connect, ranger teams got to work and conducted a litter clean-up along the Noon Gun area. The team collected over 100 bags of litter!
SANParks is encouraging those who enjoy exploring the trails to be conscious of littering and are encouraging park users to appreciate a healthy clean environment.
“We kindly request all visitors to pick up their litter and discard it in the surrounding bins or at home. For the love of nature: Take only photos and leave only footprints, ” the Facebook post read.
