Private higher education provider STADIO has started construction on its Durbanville campus, with the institution expected to open its doors in 2026 and cater to between 4 000 and 5 000 students, Cape {town} Etc reports.
The university will provide education in diverse fields such as Information Technology (IT), education, law, architecture, engineering, commerce media and design.

Once construction is complete, the campus is envisioned to be 13 000m² of buildings.
Starting in 2025, construction will be launched in phases, with access points, roads, first academic blocks, offices, lecture halls and parking facilities, as reported by TygerBurger via News24.
In addition, a rugby field that will comply with World Rugby’s turf specifications will be constructed on the campus by February 2026.
When completed, the field will be able to host ‘international rugby games’.
Recently, STADIO celebrated the planting of the first tree on the Durbanville Campus on 6 November, according to their website.
Among the attendees were Chris Vorster, chief executive officer of STADIO Higher Education, Dr Chris van der Merwe, non-executive director of STADIO Holdings and Landseer Collen, director and founder of BPAS Architects, to mark the start of construction of the new Durbanville campus in Groot Phesantekraal Estate.
STADIO currently boasts 10 academic schools and over 50 accredited qualifications and offers both in-person and distance-learning options, as reported by The South African.
