A Nigerian artist and performer, who is also wanted as a suspect by an anti-corruption agency in his home country, is among the high-rollers outed on social media for his unpaid tab at a glitzy Cape Town champagne bar.
Recently, the Saint Champagne Bar & Lounge, which is renowned for its flashy clientele and their lavish spending, took to social media to “name and shame” patrons who had failed to settle exorbitant tabs.

A manager, who asked not to be named, told TimesLive that the club had taken the drastic steps after pleading with patrons to settle their debts, some of them six months old.
“We have been following up on the bills, calling and asking people to pay and getting only empty promises,” said the unidentified manager.
TimesLive reports that defaulters include Opaogun Oluwasegun Akinola, also known as Opa6ix, a social media personality with nearly 600 000 followers on Instagram, known for posing with luxury cars and pricey alcohol.
The musician also previously frequented Sandton’s Hydro Lounge nightclub, a venue known to be a hangout for members of the notorious Nigerian Black Axe organised crime group.
However, despite his prominence on social media and multiple live performances at various establishments, Akinola remains on the list of Nigeria’s Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.
In a statement, the agency confirmed that Akinola was wanted in a case of conspiracy, computer-related fraud and obtaining money under false pretence.
The agency described his last known address in Nigeria as Agege, Lagos state, two years ago.
Meanwhile, the club said late last week that many of the unpaid bills had already been settled.
“A huge thank you to you all for the incredible support,” it said in a statement. “We are pleased to announce that 85% of the customers have reached out and made payments and arrangements. The aim was to get the attention of all owing customers, and you have helped us in doing so. To those posted, we will continue to post you until you clear what’s owed.”
