Police in Cape Town has deployed more officers to Scottsdene, Kraaifontein, after a nine-year-old girl and a 30-year-old woman was wounded in what seems to be a gang-related shooting on Friday, July 30.
According to IOL, the incident took place in Ashley Court just after 4.20 pm as gang members allegedly opened fire on residents. Police spokesperson, Captain FC van Wyk says a case of attempted murder has been opened and officers are currently investigating the incident. No arrests have been made yet.
Meanwhile, political parties are now engaging with taxi bosses to find a solution to the ongoing taxi violence in the Western Cape, EWN reports. More than 80 people were killed in taxi-related shootings since the beginning of the year.
There is also speculation that Golden Arrow might limit its services to certain areas after another bus driver was shot and wounded on Friday, July 30.
