The Western Cape has been experiencing some odd weather of late – it is highly unusual for there to be overcast and rainy days the middle of December.

While we are dealing with low temperatures and dreary days, along with weather warnings, the SA Weather Service (SAWS) has denied that there will be snow in the province over the Christmas period.

“We had several enquires about possible snowfall and this is all false information,” SAWS said in a statement. “We are not expecting any snowfall for the coming week, there is only a series of weak cold fronts that will result in light rain but mainly confined over the Cape Metropole and Peninsula areas for tonight [Friday, December 20] into Saturday morning, Tuesday afternoon and possibly on Thursday.”
