The actor, who played the role of Freddy Gums in the 2016 South African film, was shot dead earlier in this week, Cape {town} Etc reports.

The award-winning actor was fatally killed on Tuesday evening, alongside another man. Manuel played the role of a 28s prison gang leader in the film that took the nation by storm.
Manuel was found by the police after he had been shot several times.
The Western Cape police spokesperson, Sergeant Wesley Twigg, confirmed that since the occurrence of the incident, the Gugulethu police had registered two counts of murder. Currently, the police are still searching for suspects as the motive for the killing remains unknown. Twigg further confirmed that one of the victims had died on the scene while the other passed on a while later in a medical treatment facility.
Gugulethu Community Policing Forum (CPF) spokesperson, Linda Kabeni, stated that the Gugulethu community was in shock and disbelief when the news of the shooting broke, as Manuel had lived in the township for most of his life, reports News24
