Motorists should take note to be careful on the roads this Easter weekend, as more traffic accidents and deaths occur over this holiday than any other.
One person was killed in a head-on collision on the N1 outside of De Doorns early on Thursday morning.
The crash occurred at approximately 6am and left four others injured as well, when a Kia Picanto and Nissan bakkie collided.
Both drivers were trapped within their respective vehicles, and were freed by Emergency Medical Services (EMS).
One passenger was injured in the Kia, while three were injured in the bakkie, and the cause of the accident is still under investigation.
