Oscar Pistorius has been eligible for parole since July, having served half his 13-year sentence for killing Reeva Steenkamp. However, Pistorius may be spending his 35th birthday celebration on November 22 in prison.

According to Remo News, the next step requires the victim/offenders dialogue which includes consulting with Reeva’s parents – June and Barry Steenkamp.
Knight said he heard that corrective services could move Pistorius to Gqeberha to meet the Steenkamps, while Singabakho Nxumalo, of the prison service, said “this is new to me”.
“The team is still working on the logistics. Inmates are unlikely to come close to December due to the blockade”, he told Pretoria News.
Steenkamps’ attorney, Tania Koen said that while she also heard Pistorius could travel to Gqeberha where he and the probation council would consult with her clients, she hadn’t heard any word on the matter from the department.
“Indeed, we have not received any further news from the department on when the victim/offender dialogue will take place”, Koen said as per Opera News.
Knight further added that the department had contacted the Steenkamps previously, but no date had yet been set for the parties to meet.
Koen said the way that the Steenkamps had no clue about when they would now encounter Pistorius was difficult for the dispossessed guardians.
“While they need to be essential for the cycle and they are ready to see him, it will be enthusiastic for them to confront him.”
Pistorius’ dad, Henke, said while it would be a good feeling to have his child home for Christmas, he was not betting on it.
“Regardless of whether he gets parole and when it happens is in the possession of the parole board. It is absolutely in their conversation and I would rather not make bogus expectations for us as the family, nor for Oscar, regarding when and if he will be delivered”, he said as per Opera News.
